Employment Counseling & Litigation

Employers of all sizes must navigate a complex course of statues and regulations – sometimes on a daily basis. A&G Law lawyers are experienced in the employment issues faced by clients, including Title VII discrimination laws, the Fair Labor Standards Act, the Illinois Minimum Wage Law, covenants not to compete, and employee/independent contractor agreements.

On the counseling side, we guide employers through termination meetings, disciplinary actions, and all other aspects of the employer-employee relationship. We provide employment policies and procedures, separation agreements, employment contracts, and affirmative action plans. Our lawyers also conduct management and employee training.

On the claim and litigation side, we have represented management in hearings and mediations before the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission, the Illinois Department of Human Rights, the Illinois Department of Labor, and the National Labor Relations Board. We have successfully defended employers against discrimination and retaliatory discharge claims brought in federal courts throughout the country, as well as Illinois state court. Finally, we have helped clients resolve putative class and collective actions brought under the wage and hour laws, as well as restrictive covenant disputes with employees and competitors.
